
Hazing Policy
Absolutely no hazing by any member fraternity is permitted. Violators will be brought before the Judicial Board and a suitable punishment will be decided upon by the Eexecutive Vice President of Judicial. The following is a list of things included, but not limited to, in the IFC’s definition of hazing:
1. A pledge program that interferes with academic performance
2. Initiation Weeks referred to as Hell Weeks
3. Forced consumption of alcohol or any other substance
4. Encouraged or mandated use of any drug, narcotic, or controlled substance
5. Eating spoiled foods, raw onions, goldfish, or anything at all a reasonable person wouldn’t eat.
6. Dropping food into another person’s mouth
7. Tying a person to anything, including other people
8. Causing excessive fatigue through physical exercise, lack of sleep, or psychological shock
9. Branding
10. Paddling, whipping, or beating of any nature
11. Performing calisthenics
12. Pushing, shoving, tackling or any other physical abuse
13. Throwing of anything at all at a person or group of people
14. Exposing oneself or forcing pledges or members to be naked in any form
15. Subjecting a person to verbal harassment
16. The use of demeaning names
17. Misleading new members into believing that they will not be initiated, be hurt during initiation, or any other activity that would cause stress.
18. Carrying any items that serve no constructive purpose
19. Conducting activities that do not allow time for studying
20. Wearing apparel that are demeaning or not normally in tast
21. Defacing property
22. Stealing property
23. Compelling a person or group to remain at a certain place or transporting a person anywhere without their consent
24. Assigning or endorsing pranks.
